In observance of Veterans Day, the Stratford Fire Department celebrated the men and women who have served in the US military, especially firefighters who have remained committed to their communities after serving in the armed forces. Officials expressed gratitude for veterans' selflessness and tenacity, highlighting the significant contribution they have made to the strength and security of the country.

Additionally, the department honored three recently retired members—Assistant Chief Daniel Chanda, U.S. Navy; Firefighter Frank Kullberg, U.S. Navy; and Firefighter William Devalt Jr., Connecticut National Guard—who passed away this year and were recognized for their military and fire service. The leadership of Stratford Fire stated that honoring their efforts and maintaining their legacy within the department and community is still a privilege.
