Almost 24 hours exactly Cedar Hammock Fire was dispatched to a report of a Structure Fire. On arrival Firefighters faced a 4,000 sq ft fully involved structure which was surrounded by waterways. Wind gusts over 25 mph hampered Firefighting efforts and pushed fire throughout the structure. Shortly after arrival a second alarm was struck, a third alarm was struck not long after. An Engine Company was sent to the north side of the waterway for structure protection, and to assist on the āDā side. The fire was brought under control in around 90 minutes. Unfortunately, 12 residents were displaced, and the family lost two dogs in the fire. Mutual Aid from Southern Manatee Fire & Rescue, and the City of Bradenton, Manatee County EMS, with mutual aid covering stations. The fire is under investigation by Florida State Fire Marshalls.
