CEDAR HAMMOCK, FL - On November 30, 2025, almost 24 hours exactly after another fire, Cedar Hammock Fire was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 200 Block Magellan Dr.
On arrival, firefighters faced a 4,000-sq.-ft. fully-involved structure that was surrounded by waterways. Wind gusts over 25 mph hampered firefighting efforts and pushed fire throughout the structure. Shortly after arrival, a second alarm was struck, and then a third alarm was struck not long after.
An Engine Company was sent to the north side of the waterway for structure protection, and to assist on the āDā side. The fire was brought under control in around 90 minutes.
Unfortunately, 12 residents were displaced, and the family lost two dogs in the fire.
Mutual Aid came from Southern Manatee Fire & Rescue, and the City of Bradenton, Manatee County EMS, with mutual aid covering stations. The fire is under investigation by Florida State Fire Marshalls.
