On February 4, just before 1:00 p.m., the Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a reported house fire at Hawks Nest RV Park off Commercial Way. Engine 13 arrived to discover a completely involved RV trailer engulfed in smoke and flames. Firefighters responded immediately with hose lines and extinguished the fire shortly after arrival. There were no inhabitants inside at the time, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the incident was identified as an unattended candle. The RV was ruled a total loss. Crews remained on scene to complete the refurbishment and assure the area's safety.
