Amherst, NH — November 7 — The Clark School was visited by Department Amherst Fire Rescue, located at 177 Amherst St., to teach kids about fire safety and to show them the tools that firemen use on a daily basis. Crews described the functions of the engine's tools, helmets, SCBA, and turnout gear. Additionally, students were shown how firemen are ready for crises and why everyone should keep safe by practicing safety.

Firefighters talked to family members about testing smoke alarms, having a house escape plan, and dialling 911. By demonstrating to kids that firemen are there to assist, the visit helped foster trust between students and rescuers. As part of its aim to promote prevention and awareness throughout the community, Amherst Fire Rescue keeps up its school outreach.
