Twin Mountain, NH — November 6 — On Thursday, Twin Mountain Fire Rescue and a number of mutual-aid partners responded to a tractor-trailer collision in Crawford Notch on U.S. Route 302. At the scene, personnel from Bartlett Fire, Littleton Fire Rescue Hazmat, Carroll Police, New Hampshire State Police, and NH DOT provided assistance. Twin Mountain Ambulance assessed and transported the driver, who had only minor injuries. While traffic was diverted around the location, responders secured the truck, evaluated the load, and dealt with roadway dangers. The trash and environmental issues that are typical of mountain road events necessitated a protracted closure for cleanup. Once the situation was deemed safe for travel, Route 302 was reopened thanks to the coordinated efforts of all agencies.
