November 18, 2025 — Citrus County Fire Rescue is expressing its gratitude to the National Junior Honor Society students at Lecanto Middle School after the group completed a thoughtful service project to support local firefighters.

The NJHS Panthers poured creativity and compassion into the effort, crafting handmade thank-you cards filled with encouraging messages and collecting sports drinks and snacks to help keep crews fueled during long shifts. Their hard work—and the support of their families—resulted in enough supplies to stock two CCFR fire stations.

Firefighters said the gesture was uplifting and deeply appreciated, noting that the students’ kindness embodies the spirit of community service and leadership.

CCFR applauds the NJHS Panthers for their generosity, pride, and commitment to making a positive difference. Their efforts show how even small acts of kindness can strengthen the community and brighten the days of those who serve.
