Roof Fire Contained at Rebel Exxon Building

Martin County Fire Rescue teams responded shortly before 5:30 a.m. on February 8 to a reported commercial structure fire at the Rebel Exxon business at 4287 NW Federal Highway. The first responding units reported a fire visible from the building's roof. Firefighters rapidly deployed handlines and fought to keep the fire from spreading further into the structure. The fire was quickly contained.

According to preliminary findings, the fire could have been caused by a light ballast. Officials confirmed that all individuals were safely evacuated, with no injuries recorded. Units on the site included Ladder 18, Rescue 18, Engine 16, Rescue 161, Engine 23, Rescue 231, Battalion 2, Battalion 3, EMS 2, and EMS 3.
