November 20, 2025 — Citrus County Fire Rescue joined forces with community partner Citrus County Blessings this week, helping unload a food donation truck at the organization’s Hernando location. The collaboration reflects CCFR’s commitment to supporting families facing food insecurity and strengthening the safety net that serves children across the county.

Citrus County Blessings, while not a public food pantry, plays a vital role in the community by providing weekend meals to local children in need. Their efforts ensure students have reliable access to food when school-based resources are unavailable.

Residents seeking food assistance can visit feed352.org to find a directory of local food pantries and helpful resources. Families interested in enrolling in the Blessings program may contact the organization directly at 352-341-7707,

email Rachelle@citruscountyblessings.org, or speak with their child’s school guidance department for more information.

CCFR extends its appreciation to Citrus County Blessings for the essential work they do—and to the fire rescue crews who stepped up once again to support a mission that keeps the community strong.
