Arkport, NY — November 22 — On November 22, the drill focused on putting new equipment into service that had been obtained through the Department of Environmental Conservation grant program. Members changed compartment layouts and designated locations for replacement tools and newly installed equipment.

In total, the district spent $5,187.74 on eligible equipment, with $2,500 refunded by the grant. Lieutenant Car 272 wrote the grant application and helped coordinate purchasing. The department stated that the enhancements will help with wildland and brush fire responses.
