Arkport, NY — November 8 — Arkport Hose Co. #1 Inc. reported a busy week, highlighted by the completion of purchases made under a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation grant program. The entire expenditure was $5,187.74, which met the reimbursement threshold of $5,000. Under the program, the DEC reimburses $2,500 for certified wildland firefighting equipment.

Ranger Anne from DEC visited the fire station to review and approve the new equipment, which will help strengthen the department’s capability during brush and wildland incidents.
