KEENE, NH — November 1 — Professional firefighters from Keene IAFF Local 3265 finished two days of training at a Class A burn facility this week. Firefighters carried out a number of live-fire evolutions, concentrating on ladder operations, coordinated search and rescue, and fire suppression. Communication, air management, and operating safely in low-visibility situations were all stressed by the instructors. For career firefighters in New Hampshire, live-fire training is still a crucial prerequisite that helps guarantee they are equipped to respond to mutual aid situations and structural fires in Cheshire County. Additionally, the training aids in maintaining a constant level of performance during shifts and facilitates ongoing education. To remain prepared for the variety of situations they react to day or night, local 3265 members undergo year-round training.
