Pickup Goes Into The Reeds After 2 Vehicle Crash

Mastic Beach N.Y.- On the Morning of November 27, 2020 at about 11:03 AM the Mastic Beach Fire Department and Mastic Beach Ambulance activated for a report of a motor vehicle crash on Jefferson Dr. Assistant Chief Jeff McGown [5-13-31] arrived on scene and advised he had a 2car crash and that unit 4 can respond in signal 4 (under control). Captain Grego [5-13-50] and Rescue 4 both responded in to the scene as did Fire-Police. A pickup truck had gone into the reeds after being hit. On their arrival the crew from Rescue 4 was advised they would need to remove the pickup from the reeds
Rescue 4 hooked up the pickup to the rear winch of the truck and proceeded to remove the pickup truck. Mastic Beach EMS’s 81 responder spoke with the drivers of both vehicles. There appeared to be no injuries. All units were placed back into service in about 20 mins.
