Glover, VT — At 2:03 p.m. on Nov. 23, the Glover Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide detector activation at a home on Beach Hill Road in West Glover. When firefighters arrived, all the people had left the house. Crews used a CO meter to inspect the interior and discovered increased levels, particularly near a propane-fired water heater.
Firefighters cut off the water heater and the propane supply. The home was vented until no CO levels were discovered. The residents phoned their service provider, who responded and resolved the equipment issue.
Rescue 1 and Engine 3 responded with three workers each, while two more remained at the station. The department praised the Glover Road Crew for assisting them in reaching their house despite the slick road conditions.
