Glover, VT — November 22 —The Glover Fire Department assisted the Sheffield-Wheelock Fire Department with a building fire at a hunting camp on Gilbert Road in Sheffield, near the Glover town boundary. The distant area was accessible via a short dirt road coated in snow and ice. Glover Fire was asked to provide its four-wheel-drive engine to help with access and water supply.
Engine 1A, Engine 1, Rescue 1, and Tanker 1 all responded. Tanker 1 was stationed nearby but returned when it was decided that the water demand could be supplied without it. Engine 1A delivered three loads of water to the area, and two extra Glover firefighters supported Sheffield-Wheelock with suppression efforts. The camp was pronounced a complete loss. All Glover units returned to their quarters around 9:30 p.m.
