Elmira Heights, NY — November 11 —Elmira Heights Fire Department firefighters went through rigorous training today to become acquainted with their newly issued Scott self-contained breathing apparatus. The training emphasized the appropriate operating and safety characteristics of the updated equipment, ensuring that firemen are ready to use the airpacks during an emergency response. SCBA equipment is an essential component of interior firefighting operations, providing respiratory protection in dangerous environments.

The agency verified that the new airpacks will go into operation immediately. Elmira Heights Fire thanked Tim Faro of Municipal Equipment Supply (MES) for leading the educational session and facilitating the changeover to the updated equipment.
