Driver Extricated Following Route 32 Crash in Plattekill

NEWBURGH, NY — Cronomer Valley Fire Department, operating under mutual aid, responded to a motor vehicle accident at State Route 32 and Church Street in the Town of Plattekill on November 26. One driver was extricated from the vehicle, and firefighters assisted injured parties after using the Jaws of Life on a trapped driver. Plattekill EMS transported the driver, and two additional ambulances were requested to transport two other subjects involved in the MVA. All patients were transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Hospital. State Route 32 was reduced to one lane of traffic during the incident. The New York State Police are investigating the cause of the accident. Plattekill Fire Department and Deputy Ulster County Fire Coordinator 56-4 were on scene.
