Fire Officials Encourage Caution as Burn Ban Ends

Milton, NH — October 29 — The governor has lifted the statewide burn restriction, according to Milton Fire-Rescue, after circumstances for fire danger have improved. With a proper permit, residents can now engage in outdoor burning. Permits can be purchased immediately at the fire station, and the state's online permit system will reopen on October 30. Despite the fact that burning is permitted once more, officials stress that New Hampshire is still experiencing drought conditions following a particularly dry summer. Residents are asked to adhere to all permit regulations, keep fires small, and stay on the scene with a water source. As the autumn season progresses and outdoor burning activity rises, firefighters thanked the community for their cooperation throughout the ban and urged continued caution to help prevent brush or debris fires.
