Somersworth, NH — October 29 — The city's outdoor burn restriction has been lifted, according to Somersworth Professional Firefighters Local 2320, 195 Maple St., following an improvement in fire hazard levels around the area. The online permit system will reopen on October 30, and the Fire Chief and Forest Warden confirmed that outdoor burning may restart. Residents must still obtain the appropriate authorization for burning brush or debris and adhere to all safety regulations even after the prohibition has been removed. Residents are urged by fire officials to have water on hand, stay with the fire at all times, and keep burn piles under control. As fall weather change and outdoor fire threats persist, the department continues to encourage prudent burning practices and thanks the community for its cooperation during the ban.
