Charlestown, NH — November 20 — The Charlestown Fire Department, located at 1 Main Street in Charlestown, New Hampshire, is urging locals to get their chimneys ready for the winter heating season. Firefighters finished practical training on home heating safety and chimney fire response. Identifying creosote accumulation, minimally damaging chimney fires, and monitoring concealed hotspots with thermal imaging cameras were all covered in the workshop. Crews emphasized the value of yearly chimney inspections by trained experts and went over appropriate ventilation measures. National fire-safety statistics show that heating appliances and fireplaces are the main causes of house fires in the winter. Responders hope to lower chimney-related occurrences and contribute to the community's safety and warmth throughout the season by remaining prepared and proactive.
