ACFR SWAT medics earn top placements at SWAT Roundup International in Orlando

November 8, 2025 — Alachua County Fire Rescue reported that three members of its SWAT Medic Team participated in SWAT Roundup International in Orlando, a global competition showcasing the skills, readiness, and teamwork of tactical operators and medics from around the world.
Throughout the week, ACFR medics attended tactical medicine classes and critical incident debriefings designed to further strengthen their ability to operate in high-risk environments. They also took part in the event’s TacMed competition, which tested their capability to access, stabilize, treat, and evacuate multiple casualties under tactical conditions.
ACFR medics performed exceptionally well:
- Medic Garrett Carr earned 1st place,
- Medic CJ Geeker placed 5th, and
- Medic Wayne Aylor placed 7th.
The department noted that their performance reflects the high standard of care provided by ACFR’s SWAT medics to the tactical teams of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office and the Gainesville Police Department.
Alachua County Fire Rescue also congratulated the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office for placing 8th overall in the team portion of the competition.
ACFR expressed immense pride in the dedication and professionalism of the three medics, highlighting their ongoing commitment to training for any scenario they may face in the field.
