November 20, 2025 — Alachua County Fire Rescue reported that members, retirees, and families gathered at Station 21 this morning to honor the retirement of Lt. Perryman and the upcoming retirement of Lt. Bates. The event brought together colleagues past and present for a warm celebration filled with shared stories, laughter, and appreciation for the years of service both officers dedicated to the department.
According to ACFR, Local 3852 sponsored a breakfast for attendees, helping set the tone for a morning centered on camaraderie and reflection. Lt. Bates also shared personal reflections on his career, highlighting memorable experiences and the impact of lifelong friendships built within the fire service.
Alachua County Fire Rescue extended its gratitude to both lieutenants for their commitment and service, wishing them the very best as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
