Wethersfield, CT — November 6 — The Wethersfield Fire Department and Hartford Fire Department responded at 10:00 a.m. to a brush fire in Goodwin Park near Ridge Road. Crews arrived to find a wind-driven fire spreading through a wooded area. Firefighters worked together to contain the fire, using handlines and tools to stop the extension. The fire was knocked down in about twenty minutes, and crews remained on scene to check for hot spots and confirm the area was safe.
No injuries were reported. Seasonal winds and dry surface conditions continue to raise the risk of small brush fires, and departments across the region have been monitoring similar incidents in recent weeks.
