Greeley, PA — November 18 — On Tuesday, the Lackawaxen Township Fire Department assisted Greeley Vol. Fire and Rescue in a car extrication simulation. Responders were able to practice stabilization, tool deployment, and coordinated removal procedures during the session, which concentrated on scenarios involving trapped patients within a vehicle. In order to properly handle longer crises, training also focused on assignment rotation and clear communication between personnel.
The exercise helps Pike County's regional efforts to enhance interoperability during motor vehicle crash responses. In order to remain ready for actual entrapment calls, both departments stressed the importance of continuing ongoing practical training. After the exercise was over and all equipment was adjusted, crews went back to work.
