Bushkill, PA — November 7 — On Friday, Bushkill Volunteer Fire Company helped Delaware Township Fire Company put out a brush fire off Park Road. Due to the fire's location in a forested area without access to hydrants, suppression would need a rural water supply operation. In order to provide handline firefighters with a consistent fireflow, Engine 5 set up a fill site on Wilson Hill Road, and Tanker 5 transported water from the site to the fire line.
While host-agency workers worked hotspots along the perimeter, the shuttle loop allowed extinguishment efforts to continue uninterrupted. Operations continued to run smoothly and safely thanks to unit coordination. After the fire was suppressed and the water-supply operation was no longer required, Bushkill crews went back to work.
