On Oct. 28th, Guilderland Fire Department members participated in a hands-on chimney fire training drill to stress safe and efficient response methods. The practice focused on developing muscle memory, tool positioning, and coordinated actions for responding to chimney-related emergencies. With temperatures lowering and fireplaces seeing more use, the department recommended that residents have their chimneys examined and cleaned to decrease the risk of fire. The drill enhanced the department's continuous commitment to seasonal readiness and community safety by providing consistent and realistic training.
