Danville, PA — October 29 — When the weather changed, the Valley Township Fire Department responded to two auto incidents. When it was raining heavily, the first contact came from Interstate 80 travelling west near mile marker 217. While law enforcement controlled traffic on the wet road, crews responded to a rollover crash, secured the site, and helped EMS. This issue was handled by eight members.

Units were sent to a second collision near Kaseville Road and Cherokee Road later in the day after the rain had stopped. While tow companies arrived, four members reacted, offering road safety and patient support. Wet-to-dry roadway transitions are still a factor in late-October crashes in Pennsylvania's rural areas, according to PennDOT. All units were put back into service once both situations were effectively resolved.
