BABYLON, NY - During the early hours of November 24th, the Babylon Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire on Fredrick Avenue, off of Beverly Road and the dead end.

Third Assistant Chief of the Department Eric Price (1-2-33) was the first responding chief, and Babylon Central Fire Alarm advised him that they took it as a direct call for reports of a computer on fire, and that the residence was filling with smoke.

Quickly en route also was the First Assistant Chief of the Department, James Miga (1-2-31). Upon 1-2-33’s arrival everyone was out of the house and smoke was showing from the front door. Upon 1-2-31’s arrival, he advised Babylon Central to retone a working fire. Upon Engine 1-2-6’s arrival, they laid in and put a line into operation. A total of two lines were operated.

The West Babylon Fire Department was requested for a Rapid Intervention Team (1-9-4) and an ambulance. Upon 1-9-4’s quick arrival they were put to work as a first-due truck. The North Babylon Fire Company was requested to the scene as the new Rapid Intervention Team (1-8-4). The fire was located on the second floor and quickly knocked down.

Units operated under the command of First Assistant Chief of the Babylon Fire Department, James Miga (1-2-31). The cause of the fire is under investigation, and there were no reported injuries.
