Galeton, PA — November 17— Department A ground ladder training session was conducted at Station 10 with Department 19 by Goodyear Hose Co. #1, 87 Sherman Street, PO Box 248, Galeton, PA, USA. Ladder selection, safe positioning, appropriate footing, and coordinated movement during outdoor fire operations were the main topics of the training. In order to simulate structural access and rescue missions, crews practiced lifting ladders from equipment, securing working angles, and working in groups. By enabling personnel from both departments to use one other's equipment and strengthen common communication techniques, the joint training promoted improved interoperability. The training was acknowledged as an important preparation for future replies, given the impending colder weather and the traditionally higher call volume throughout Potter County during the winter.
