Cape May, N.J — Nov. 21 —This afternoon, members of IAFF Local 3495 accepted delivery of the new Tower 51, a 2025 Pierce Ascendant Tower Ladder. The gear includes a 100-foot airborne platform, a 300-gallon water tank, and a 2,000-GPM pump. Tower 51 will include a full complement of firefighting and technical rescue equipment.

Firefighters will train and outfit the unit in the coming weeks to guarantee familiarity with the aerial, pump, and equipment arrangement before it is put into action. Tower 51 replaces the department’s 2004 E-One rear-mount tower, which did not include a pump or onboard water. The improvement improves capabilities for both truck company operations and initial fire attack.
