On October 29, 2025, members of Huntingdon Regional Fire & Rescue participated in a Landing Zone Safety training led by STAT MedEvac. The instructional session focused on establishing secure landing zones, assisting flight crews, and managing potential helicopter-related emergencies. Following the presentation, personnel met with a STAT MedEvac crew at the Penn Highlands helipad to review aircraft procedures and safety considerations.

Later that night, the department was dispatched to an inside investigation in the uptown area of Huntingdon Borough. Duty 65, Truck 65 with five personnel, Engine 65-2 with six, and Engine 65-1 with five responded within four minutes of dispatch. Truck 65 and Engine 65-2 arrived simultaneously, deploying crews to investigate a reported smoke condition while securing a hydrant. Engine 65-1 provided additional manpower. The source was traced to a malfunctioning dehumidifier in the basement, and the incident was cleared without further hazard. Chief 65 Furlong held command.

HRFR extends appreciation to STAT MedEvac for the valuable training and thanks its members for their continued commitment to service.
