November 21, 2025 —Hackettstown Fire Department reported that on Friday, crews were dispatched to Main Street just east of Canal Lane to assist the Independence Township Fire Department with a car fire.
According to the department, firefighters arrived to find an actively burning vehicle and assisted Independence Township personnel with fire suppression and scene support. The fire was quickly brought under control, and no injuries were reported.
The Hackettstown Fire Department thanked Independence Township for the coordinated response and reminded motorists to use caution when approaching emergency scenes.
