February 24, 2026 — Watchung Volunteer Fire Department responded as part of a mutual aid assignment into Warren Township for a reported fire and hazardous materials incident. Engine 603 deployed fully staffed with six volunteer firefighters and arrived on scene to support ongoing operations. Crews assisted with overhaul and ventilation efforts, working alongside multiple responding agencies to ensure the scene was stabilized safely and efficiently. Firefighters operated for approximately one hour before being released and returning to the Borough. Mutual aid partners included Community Fire Company #3, Mt. Bethel Fire Company, Washington Valley Volunteer Fire Company, Mt. Horeb Volunteer Fire Company, and Somerset County Hazardous Materials teams, highlighting the coordinated regional response required for complex incidents.
