On November 22, 2025, the Martindale Volunteer Fire Department Station 3 reported a demanding and productive day as volunteers balanced intensive training with multiple emergency responses. The day began at 8 a.m. with a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) class held inside the former Lace Place Factory, the site of a major fire last December. Firefighters from Martindale, Garden Spot, and Weaverland Valley trained in realistic, smoke-filled conditions, practicing the rescue of downed firefighters through window extractions, exterior operations, and elevated roof scenarios. Led by Instructor Joe Shapiro and his team, the training provided valuable hands-on experience and tactical refinement. Throughout the day, Martindale units also handled three separate incidents, beginning with a farm and industrial rescue on the 100 block of Gristmill Road, where firefighters worked alongside New Holland EMS and Pen Med 1 to assist an injured worker. Later, fire police supported Company 39 by managing traffic at a vehicle accident, and Pumper-Tanker 03 responded to Terre Hill Borough for an interior investigation. Martindale Fire Company thanked its volunteers, mutual aid partners, and instructors for their professionalism, commitment, and ongoing service to the community.
