Philadelphia, PA — October 23 — Engine 50 reported fire coming from the first floor of a two-story house, prompting the Philadelphia Second Alarmers to respond to Box 5003 at 15th and Clearfield Streets. While inside businesses advanced lines and set up a 2&2 service to prevent extension into adjacent linked residences, roof personnel opened up.

During suppression and overhaul, the Second Alarmers offered rehabilitation assistance. While working in hot weather and on the roof for ventilation tasks, firefighters alternated between cooling, medical monitoring, and hydration sections. Members returning to the queue were supervised and given enough respite by the rehabilitation unit. After overhaul and safety inspections were finished, personnel left the location without reporting any significant firefighter injuries.
