On October 21, Hand-in-Hand Fire Company held a special evening of reflection and training centered on the question, “Why Do We Do It?” The program brought members together to hear from six longtime volunteers, who collectively represent 237 years of service. Through stories, discussion, and personal insight, the panel shared what has sustained their dedication—balancing family, careers, and decades of community service—while emphasizing the purpose and fulfillment found in volunteering. The event offered both inspiration and perspective for newer members, reinforcing the company’s culture of mentorship and service. The evening concluded with fellowship, food, and coffee, celebrating the strong relationships that continue to drive the organization forward.
