November 20, 2025 — Fair Lawn Fire Department reported that six of its members were among the 121 firefighters who graduated last week from the Bergen County Fire Academy, earning their Firefighter 1 Certification. The rigorous program includes more than 180 hours of instruction held two nights per week over a six-month period.

According to the department, the achievement represents a significant milestone in each firefighter’s career, requiring commitment, endurance, and support from family members throughout the training process. Fair Lawn Fire Chief Ralph Rinaldo and Battalion Chief Jeff Goldberg joined graduates Travis Adely, Michael Arevalo, Andrew Baliman, Danny Cheston, Bryan Ferlanti, and Tyler Ferlanti in celebrating the accomplishment.

The Fair Lawn Fire Department congratulated its newest certified firefighters, commended them for their dedication, and wished them success and safety as they begin serving the community.
