November 16 — Hand-in-Hand Fire Company
The Hand-in-Hand Fire Company experienced a demanding Sunday afternoon on November 16, responding to six separate incidents across multiple townships. The first call came at 12:32 p.m., when Tanker 41 was dispatched to Station 53 for standby coverage as crews battled both a large brush fire and a barn fire. At 1:09 p.m., the tanker was redirected to the barn fire in Manor Township, where firefighters assisted with overhaul operations before clearing the scene. Just under an hour later, at 2:08 p.m., Engine 41 responded to a second-alarm barn fire in Upper Leacock Township. By 2:24 p.m., Tanker 41 was assigned to standby at Station 39-1 to ensure continued area coverage. The pace continued at 3:22 p.m., when both Engine 41 and Tanker 41 were sent to a reported commercial building fire in East Lampeter Township, though the incident was quickly scaled back by first-arriving units. The final call occurred at 3:48 p.m., when Tanker 41 was dispatched to a brush fire in Upper Leacock Township but was recalled while en route. Despite the high call volume, all incidents were managed efficiently, reflecting coordinated response efforts across neighboring departments.
