October 9, 2025 —Edgewater Fire Department reported that at 10:29 a.m., crews were dispatched to 1375 River Road for a reported boat fire on or near land. Police units arrived first and confirmed that the burning vessel was docked in the marina.

According to the department, EW-9, Engine 5, Rescue 3, and Marine 1 responded to the scene. North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue was also requested for a marine unit; however, Marine 1 arrived quickly and knocked down the fire before additional marine support was needed, allowing North Hudson’s unit to be cancelled en route.

A hoseline was stretched from Marine 1, and Engine 5’s crew located and extinguished remaining hot spots, bringing the fire under control. The Coast Guard, New Jersey State Police, and the Arson Squad were notified as part of standard protocol.

The incident remains under investigation by Edgewater Police Detectives, along with the Edgewater and Fort Lee Fire Prevention Bureaus.
