Allendale, N.J — Nov. 10 — The Allendale Fire Department used this past drill night to practice using its portable air cart and high-pressure air-bag system, emphasizing the skills required to lift, transport, and stabilize big things during rescue operations. The device is widely utilized during car extrication and structure collapse situations, and it may also provide oxygen to firemen working in restricted spaces. Members ran through a number of controlled scenarios to practice safe setup, lift sequencing, communication, and monitoring while operating the air system.
