Linwood Firefighters Free Entrapped Driver in Route 9 Crash

Linwood, NJ — December 16 — The Linwood Fire Department was called to the intersection of Route 9 and Oak Avenue at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday due to a reported motor vehicle collision with entrapment. In less than two minutes after dispatch, Engine 54 and Car 5 arrived on the site with two firefighters and EMTs on duty. Crews arrived and verified that one person was stuck inside a car. Firefighters immediately began providing medical care while initiating extrication operations. A recall of off-duty personnel was transmitted, and Ladder 5 responded with additional volunteer firefighters.

Egg Harbor Township Emergency Medical Services treated and transferred all of the patients to nearby hospitals after they had been safely removed from the cars. Northfield Firefighters IAFF Local 2364, the City of Northfield Volunteer Fire Company #1, and EHT Communications all contributed.
