November 10, 2025 — Full Allendale Fire Department reported that during this week’s drill night, firefighters trained with the department’s portable air cart and high-pressure air bags, two critical tools used in complex rescue situations. The equipment allows crews to lift, move, or stabilize heavy objects—capabilities essential during vehicle extrications, structural collapses, and other technical rescues. The air cart system can also supply breathing air to firefighters operating in confined space environments.
According to the department, regular hands-on training ensures that firefighters remain proficient and ready to deploy these systems quickly and safely when seconds matter.
The Allendale Fire Department encouraged community members interested in learning new skills and serving their community to visit the firehouse any Thursday night to meet the crew and learn how they can make a difference.
