Spring Township, Pa. — November 4 —While the department's Open House was taking place, Township of Spring Fire & Rescue Services responded to two motor vehicle incidents on Route 222 in quick succession Saturday morning. The first crash occurred about 9:30 a.m., involving a car accident with unknown injuries. Rescue Engine 85 arrived to find Western Berks EMS already on the site, providing traffic safety and debris control before clearing.

As RE85 returned to quarters, crews noticed a second crash in the opposite lane and contacted Communications. A report of suspected fire involvement resulted in an escalated assignment for Ladder 79 and Tanker 85, however, both were recalled when RE85 confirmed no fire and no additional dangers. Rescue Engine 85 secured fluids and debris before being released by Spring Township Police.
