Grant Helps Livingston Firefighters Upgrade Protective Gear

Livingston, N.J. — November 18 — Livingston Fire Department has acquired new protective turnout gear for its firefighters, funded through a federal grant and strong township support. The Township of Livingston secured the award through the American Rescue Plan Firefighter 2022 RFP, allowing the department to replace essential coats and bunker pants.

Fire Chief Christopher Mullin said the purchase ensures members have the proper level of protection for daily operations, adding that partnerships made the project possible. Deputy Chief Josh Lewis joined Chief Mullin in showcasing the new gear, reinforcing the department’s commitment to safety and readiness.
