Lewistown, PA — 10th November — Early on Monday morning, the Department Junction Fire Company responded to a Derry Township garage fire. Nine members of the Truck Company responded to the call at approximately six in the morning. Crews helped township units ventilate the building, check for extensions and gain entrance.

There were no reported casualties, and the fire was contained to the garage area. The difficulties were exacerbated by the chilly morning weather and poor visibility, but staff slowly worked to contain the situation. Before resuming their duties, firefighters stayed on the scene for an overhaul.
