Lewistown, Pa. — November 7 — Pump operations training was held on Elizabeth Street on Friday morning by the Chief Logan Volunteer Fire Department, located at 1800 Glenwood Avenue. Firefighters spent many hours going over key engine operations, such as setting up a water supply, controlling pump pressures, and using valves and controls in various situations.
The department's readiness program includes pump training as a crucial component, particularly for responses in locations where hydrants are scarce and dependable water transportation is essential. Members were able to improve their abilities and reaffirm standard operating procedures during the training.
