Lewis Run, Pa. — November 12 — As part of a second-alarm assignment on Box 8-1, the Lewis Run Volunteer Fire Department, located at 46–48 Main Street, responded on Wednesday afternoon. Station 8, which held leadership, assigned interior attack responsibilities to Chief 15, who oversaw a crew of five aboard Squad 15-1. Squad 15-2 stayed in quarters to cover the station. Before being allowed to leave the scene, Lewis Run employees worked at the fire for over two hours.

Shortly after arriving back at the station, McKean County sent the department to investigate a petrol odour off Interstate Parkway. When firefighters found dangerous quantities of carbon monoxide inside a home, they determined that the problem was probably caused by a furnace malfunction. Until repairs could be finished, occupants were encouraged to look for temporary lodging.
