Lafayette, Pa. — October 27 — On Monday, personnel from the Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department, located at 7004 Route 59, were sent to a car fire close to Airport Road and Route 59. Callers reported that adjacent vegetation had caught fire and that a log truck was on fire.

Station 7 requested mutual aid when Pennsylvania State Police arrived first and verified the truck was completely involved. Their engine worked with firemen from Lafayette Township to confine the fire and prevent it from spreading farther into the surrounding foliage.
