Egg Harbor Township, N.J. — November 13 — Firefighters from the Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company, Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company, and Linwood Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4370 participated in a joint live-burn simulation at the Atlantic County Fire Academy. The training focused on incident command, scene size-up, second-floor search operations, fire suppression tactics, and hose-line management. Cardiff Assistant Chief Craig Thompson oversaw the changes, which were intended to enhance communication among departments that typically work together.
During the drill, Cardiff and Bargaintown units responded to a rollover incident involving two automobiles on English Creek Avenue and Glenn Avenue. Crews arrived to discover minor injuries, and the issue was handled by the Egg Harbor Township Police Department. Gene Sharp, Chief of Bargaintown, was the incident commander.
