Cyclone, Pa. — October 27 — Following reports of a log truck burning along the road, the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department, located at 4351 Route 646 in Cyclone, Pennsylvania, responded to a vehicle fire near Route 59 and Airport Road. When Pennsylvania State Police arrived first, they verified that the truck was completely involved and that the fire had spread into the surrounding vegetation. Suppression attempts were supported by a call for mutual aid from Station 7.

In order to contain both the truck fire and the brush fire, Hilltop firefighters quickly knocked on the flames and collaborated with Station 7 staff. In order to prevent the log load from reigniting because of its densely packed material, crews stayed on the spot to completely cool it. During the incident, PSP was in charge of traffic control and scene safety.
