October 15, 2025 — Full Crescent Hose Company announced that it is actively seeking volunteer fire police members to support emergency operations and enhance scene safety throughout the community. The department emphasized that while not every volunteer enters burning buildings or responds directly to medical emergencies, fire police personnel play a crucial role in ensuring that emergency responders can work safely and efficiently.

According to Crescent Hose Company, fire police volunteers are essential for controlling traffic, securing roadways, managing crowds, and protecting both responders and the public during fires, vehicle accidents, and community events. These members are often among the first to arrive on scene and the last to leave, maintaining safe conditions for firefighters, EMS crews, law enforcement, tow operators, and residents.

No prior firefighting or EMS experience is required to join. The department provides all necessary training and equipment, relying only on a volunteer’s willingness to serve and desire to support their neighbors during emergencies.

Crescent Hose Company encouraged interested community members to stop by the station or reach out via Facebook to learn more about joining the fire police team and making a meaningful impact in North East.
